About this call
Preus Museum, Norway's national museum of photography, runs an annual open call tied to the Oslo Negativ Photo Festival. The 2026 theme is Passion, framed as the force that connects, divides and transforms. The museum asks for work that treats passion across its full range, from tenderness, devotion and courage through to obsession, fanaticism and polarisation. Entrants may send a single image or a series of up to 15 photographs, with a project description explaining the link to the theme. A jury of curators, industry professionals and festival board representatives picks one winner. That winner takes a cash prize of NOK 20,000, enters the museum collection and exhibits at Oslo Negativ 2026, which runs over three weekends from 10 to 25 October. Exhibition production and festival travel are paid for by the museum. Entry costs 10 euros, and students and Norwegian photographers can request a code that waives it.
