2026 Finno-Ugric Creative Residency in Narva
About this call
Narva Art Residency is running the second edition of its Finno-Ugric creative residency, organised with the Fashion Design department of the Estonian Academy of Arts. One artist is selected to spend November 23 to December 6, 2026 in Narva creating a work inspired by Finno-Ugric cultures. The call is aimed at artists and creative practitioners with roots in or strong ties to Finno-Ugric peoples, across visual art, music, theatre and performance. Because the project is backed by Erasmus+, applicants must come from countries eligible under that programme. The selected artist receives a per diem of 170 euro per day, totalling 1700 euro, which covers accommodation in the residency building, and production costs are covered separately, with travel reimbursed on top based on distance. In exchange the resident gives a 1.5 hour public lecture and two workshops of 5 hours and 1.5 hours for fashion design students at the academy. The residency also expects engagement with the local Narva community and a public presentation of the work. Applications close on August 10, 2026 and the result is announced in late August.
