Maison Riverain Mural
About this call
STEPS Public Art and Main + Main invite professional Canadian artists and artist teams with connections to Ottawa to submit qualifications for a mural at Maison Riverain, a residential development at 300 Montgomery Street in Ottawa's Vanier neighbourhood. The wall sits at the nexus of Selkirk and Montgomery Streets, and the anticipated mural dimensions are 20 feet high by 60 feet wide. Artists should be from or living in Ottawa, or hold strong connections to the City, and are asked to explain those connections in writing. Applicants must also meet the Canada Council definition of a professional artist. Three shortlisted artists each receive $750 CAD, HST inclusive, to develop detailed design proposals, and the selected finalist receives a commission of $30,000 CAD, HST inclusive, covering all project costs. This first stage is a request for qualifications. Submissions must be received by August 23, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET.
