Hearts of Danville
About this call
The Town of Danville is starting a new temporary public art series for downtown in winter 2027. Sixteen tabletop sized fiberglass heart sculptures, each 17 inches tall, will be handed to local artists to turn into individual artworks. The finished hearts go on display in community buildings and local businesses across Downtown Danville from February to March 2027, alongside the winter gallery exhibition The Heart of It. Artists must live in one of the nine San Francisco Bay Area counties and be at least 18. Each applicant may submit up to two original designs, shown as sketches of the front, back and base. Selected artists receive 250 US dollars on completion and supply their own paints and materials. There is no entry fee. The hearts are later auctioned, with proceeds going back into Danville public art projects.
