Ghosts & Things Regional Exhibition

The arts council in Texarkana is assembling a regional show built around haunting, ghostly and otherwise supernatural imagery. Organisers read the theme loosely and say work touching on loss, grief, absence and presence is equally welcome, so the door is open well beyond literal ghost pictures. Entry is limited to artists aged 18 and over living in Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma or Texas, with a flat 15 dollar fee covering up to three works. Judging happens in two stages: a first pass from images selects the show, then the committee views the hung exhibition in person to decide the awards. The prize pool runs to 500 dollars for first place, 300 for second, 150 for third and 50 dollar honorable mentions. The exhibition occupies the Regional Arts Center from 12 September to 21 November 2026, and sold work carries a 20 percent commission. Accepted pieces must reach Texarkana by 9 September.
