DRIFT: Wave 2 for Mid-career Choreographers (Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Tunisia and Ukraine)

About this call

DRIFT Wave 2 invites mid-career choreographers from ten countries to apply for a research-focused residency programme. Selected artists receive a EUR 20,000 research budget that covers an onboarding lab, a two-week residency with a local DRIFT partner, and participation in a showcase at the Biennale de la danse in Lyon (September 2027). The programme also includes mentoring, collaborative labs, and networking across a European partner ecosystem.

• Open to professional choreographers based in Belgium (French-speaking community), France, Germany (Berlin region), Greece, Italy, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Tunisia, or Ukraine. Must be mid-career with a contemporary dance/performance track record. Fluent English required. Submit: artistic CV (PDF), research proposal (max 2 pages, PDF), and portfolio with 2-3 video links.
