About this call
The Halifax Regional Municipality is commissioning permanent hanging sculptural artwork for the interior of the new Beechville Lakeside Timberlea Community Centre in Lakeside, Nova Scotia. The fireplace area is the primary site, with two additional interior locations available for further works. The call gives priority to artists with established ties to the 52 or more historic African Nova Scotian communities and encourages submissions from artists of African descent more broadly. Applicants are invited to name an emerging artist to collaborate as a mentee. The total project budget is $200,000 plus HST in Canadian dollars.
