2027 Small Works on Paper
About this call
Small Works on Paper is the Arkansas Arts Council's juried touring exhibition of two dimensional work on paper no larger than 18 by 24 inches. An out of state juror picks a maximum of 40 pieces, which then travel to as many as ten venues around the state across a full year, opening in January 2027 at the South Arkansas Arts Center in El Dorado. Eligible media are painting, photography, drawing, printmaking, mixed media and collage, and work must be original, on paper and finished within the last two years. Framing is handled by the council, so artists supply matted or mounted work that fits the standard sizes. Up to 2,000 dollars is set aside for juror selected awards, and the council may purchase selected pieces for its permanent collection at the artist's own listed price. No commission is taken on sales, so artists keep the full amount. Entry runs 15 dollars for one image, 20 for two and 25 for three, and only Arkansas residents aged 18 or over may apply.
