About this call
Die Blaue Nacht (The Blue Night) is Nuremberg's grand night of art and culture, and its international art competition invites artists to develop site-specific projects in courtyards, indoor spaces and squares of the city's Old Town. The 2027 edition has its preview on April 23 and main event on April 24, 2027, centered on the theme of light art. Applications are open to individuals and collectives working across all disciplines, including installation, light art, performance, media art and interactive or participatory projects. In autumn 2026 a jury selects up to ten projects, each receiving an artist fee of 1,500 euros plus reimbursement of material and project costs up to 4,500 euros. The deadline is July 31, 2026.
