About this call
Calgary Arts Development, on behalf of the City of Calgary, is commissioning permanent public artwork for a combined fire station and library in the community of Walden. The selected artist or team will create site-specific work that addresses the natural environment as a core theme while responding to the building's architecture and character. The opportunity is open to local and national professional artists and artist teams working in a range of media. Concept and design run from September 2026 to July 2027, with fabrication and installation continuing into 2028. The total project budget is C$275,000, exclusive of applicable taxes.
