Derbyshire Open Arts 2027

About this call

Derbyshire Open Arts is an annual open studio style event in Derbyshire, United Kingdom, held over the late May bank holiday weekend: 29, 30 and 31 May 2027, from 10.00am to 4.00pm. Artists open a venue of their own choosing within Derbyshire, such as their studio, a village or church hall, a garden shed or front room, to visitors. Each participating artist gets a page on the event website (up to 6 images, a statement of up to 300 words and an optional video link) and a quarter page in the printed brochure, which is distributed widely in Derbyshire and the surrounding counties, plus leaflets, brochures, posters, direction signs, balloons and car stickers for their venue. Artists who have trouble finding a venue can ask the organizers, who may be able to put them in touch with one.

• Your venue must be located within Derbyshire; venues that extend across county boundaries may be considered if the committee approves them. Only artists showing or demonstrating their own work get a numbered entry, and all work displayed must be the artist's own. Participating artists must open their venue on the days they specify and be in attendance during the stated opening times, and are expected to help publicise the event locally. You need public liability insurance covering the event dates, and must display a notice at your venue that the organizer accepts no liability for damage or loss of work or property. Apply online through an account on the organizer's site: one landscape image at 300dpi and up to 30 words for the brochure, up to 6 images and up to 300 words for the website. The £95 fee is paid by card or PayPal when you submit; payment must be made in full by the closing date; changes after submission cost a £10 admin charge; if you decide not to take part, fees are not refunded after the closing date. Acceptance includes one year's membership of Derbyshire Open Arts. The organizer may use the images you supply in future publicity without further permission or payment. The organizer may decline any application it deems unsuitable.
