About this call
The Center for Book Arts 2027 Chapbook Contest invites poets to submit original manuscripts of up to 450 lines or 21 pages. Submissions may include a collection of poems, a poem sequence, or a single long poem. The contest is judged anonymously by a guest judge to be announced in May 2027. The winner receives publication as a chapbook, a cash honorarium, and a residency at Millay Arts. A fee waiver period runs from October 1 to 15, 2026. Simultaneous submissions are accepted.

- Submit a manuscript of up to 450 lines or 21 pages in PDF, DOCX, or DOC format. Author name must not appear in the manuscript (anonymous judging). Include a title page, table of contents, and separate acknowledgments page. Use easy-to-read font with numbered pages. Translations of the applicant's own work are accepted. Simultaneous submissions are accepted.
