About this call

The One Minutes invites video artists to respond to the theme 'Language at Play, Language at Fault', curated by Daryna Mamaisur. Submissions must be exactly one minute long and explore themes of language as a site of play and failure. Every submitted film joins The One Minutes Collection, preserved by The Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision, and may be selected for future series, screenings and festivals. Artists whose films are selected for a Series from the open call are paid €150.

  • Video works must be exactly one minute (60 seconds), 16:9. Submissions responding to the 'Language at Play, Language at Fault' theme are curated by Daryna Mamaisur. Entries go through an online form with no payment step; the foundation pays €150 to artists whose films are selected for a The One Minutes Series from the open call. Works not matching a current theme can also be submitted to the general collection for future programming.
