Textile Biennial 2027: Colonial Patterns

Museum Rijswijk invites artists to submit textile-based works for the Textile Biennial 2027, themed around colonial patterns. The concept of colonial patterns is interpreted broadly: as a decorative motif, as repetition, as a social or historical system, as a visible structure, and as an invisible legacy. The biennial runs from July 8 to November 21, 2027.

• Submission requires artist information, three essay responses (maximum 500, 300, and 300 words), and up to three images (maximum 7 MB each, .jpg/.jpeg/.png). Selection is based on artistic quality, use of textiles, and suitability to the colonial patterns theme.
