Form Photo Award x UNSEEN 2027

About this call

The Form Photo Award x UNSEEN 2027 is an annual competition for contemporary photography on an open theme, run by Form, a platform with a gallery, magazine, publishing house and education program, with the support of UNSEEN and Picter. It aims to support emerging voices, distinctive visual approaches and critically engaged photographic practices. Five selected artists will present their projects at UNSEEN 2027 during Art Rotterdam in Rotterdam, Netherlands, 18 to 21 March 2027, and ten shortlisted artists will show in a portfolio exhibition there. The jury is Domenico De Chirico, Manuela Klerkx and Dimitri Bogachuk. Jury vote in November 2026; shortlist and winners announced in December 2026.

Who can apply

• Open to applicants of any nationality
• Medium: Photography
• Entry fee: €35
• Open to photographers of all nationalities over 18 years old: professionals or amateurs, art school or photography school students, independent photographers. Each candidate submits a short biography, a description of the project and 1 to 8 photos taken or published in the last 5 years, as JPG files at least 1500 px on the long edge; online applications only. The theme is open; black and white or colour. The photos must belong in whole or in part to a series of photographs; the submission page says single images and complete projects are both accepted, with projects at an advantage. The submission fee of 35 euros is stated on the Picter submission page. Participants keep the copyright to their photos and are responsible for checking that they do not violate the rights of third parties or organisations; if a work is selected for the exhibition, the participant undertakes to ensure its safety. Participants whose applications are accepted grant the Form Photo Award the right to use their photos for marketing purposes at the exhibition, in the exhibition press, on the FORM website and in all FORM communication media.
