Creative Catalyst Fellowship 2027

About this call

The AAPI Civic Engagement Fund's Creative Catalyst Fellowship is a yearlong program supporting individual artists whose work engages the public on critical issues facing Asian American and Pacific Islander communities. The 2027 theme is 'Belonging,' exploring community, home, agency, and the right for AAPI communities to flourish.

Who can apply

• Domestic applicants
• Medium: Mixed Media
• Free entry
• Open to individual artists aged 18 or older; organizations not eligible. International artists are not eligible. Projects must connect with AAPI communities and address the 2027 theme 'Belonging.' Eligible mediums include visual art, digital/media work, written forms, and hybrid/interdisciplinary projects for public engagement. Feature-length films, fully staged theater, dance works, and large-scale fixed installations are not eligible. Previously awarded fellows may reapply three years after completing their fellowship. Fellows must attend a virtual orientation, an in-person retreat (February 16-18, 2027), virtual check-ins, and submit a narrative report.
