Photography Commission: National Folklore Collection

About this call

UCD Library invites photographers and lens-based artists to apply for a major photographic commission valued at EUR 20,000. The commission documents the National Folklore Collection (NFC) as it moves from the Newman Building to new facilities in the James Joyce Library. The project welcomes documentary, conceptual, research-led and contemporary photographic approaches exploring themes of archives and memory, folklore and material culture, cultural heritage, conservation, and continuity and change. The completed work will form a lasting cultural record, with a selection presented in a public exhibition in May 2027.
