Prague City of Literature Residency for Writers and Translators 2027

About this call

Prague City of Literature offers eight two-month residencies in 2027 for foreign writers and translators wishing to work in the Czech capital. Each resident receives a monthly stipend of around EUR 600 (CZK 15,000), with accommodation and travel expenses covered by the organizer. Residencies are spread across six two-month periods throughout 2027. Applicants need basic English proficiency and at least one published, non-self-published literary work or equivalent credentials in theatre, radio, or translation. Residents are expected to actively write and take part in local literary activities, and results are announced before 31 October 2026.
