About this call

Gwangju Media Art Platform (G.MAP), an institution of Gwangju, UNESCO Creative City of Media Arts, is recruiting participants for the 2026 Digital Art Culture Lab: Project Lab. The Project Lab is a five month creation support and incubating programme running from August to December 2026 that carries proposals from the idea stage through production, showcase and archiving, with the process and technical information archived as a resource for the local digital art ecosystem. Fourteen teams are selected in total, seven for Track 1 Digital Transformation and seven for Track 2 Interdisciplinary Creation. International artists can apply for Track 2 only, where the creation and production grant reaches up to a maximum of 30,000,000 KRW per team. Participants also receive online mentoring and meetings, equipment and creation space support, and a showcase in G.MAP exhibition spaces and on large scale public media platforms including the G.MAP LED Wall and city media facades. The call is aimed at practices in digital art, media art, generative art, AI, interactive art, XR, AR and VR, and all team members must be aged 19 or over. Applications with a portfolio are emailed by 6 PM KST on August 9, 2026, with results announced on August 14.
