Emerging from Rupture: Chinese Adoptee Voices

About this call

Pao Arts Center in Boston invites Chinese adoptee artists to submit work for a group exhibition exploring adoptee identity through the Adoptee Consciousness Model framework, featuring five touchstones: status quo, rupture, dissonance, expansiveness, and agency. The exhibition runs from November 12, 2026 to January 15, 2027, curated by Maia Erslev. All artistic mediums and backgrounds are welcome. Two required cohort gatherings in Boston with virtual options are part of the program. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis through August 9.
