About this call

The International Writers Workshop (IWW) at Hong Kong Baptist University invites applications for its 2027 Writers-in-Residence Programme, running from 26 February to 25 March 2027. Now in its third decade, the IWW has hosted over 150 writers from more than 60 countries. This year's Literary Festival theme is “Inheritance”. Selected writers receive round-trip economy class airfare, four weeks of on-campus accommodation, and a per diem. Applicants must have at least one published literary book with a press (self-published books are ineligible), currently reside outside Hong Kong, and have functional command of English or Chinese. Applications are submitted as a single PDF to iww@hkbu.edu.hk by 14 August 2026; results announced November 2026.
